I’ve just been to the lovely continent of Australia for a few weeks. At one restaurant I even ate some real nice kangaroo steak. But I’ve never considered wearing some kangaroo skin. That offcourse, was before I saw this beautiful biker jacket by Alexander “May God have his soul” McQueen. I like the raw but simplistic look.

Just saw “The Way Back” earlier this week, since it has premiered on January 13th in The Netherlands. It’s definitely a must see film. Especially for the great landscapes and Peter Weir’s great way of filming it. A brief introduction: The Way Back is a war drama film about a group of prisoners who escape from a Siberian Gulag camp during World War II, following their journey as they struggle their way to freedom in the most extreme weather circumstances. The great thing about it is that it’s based on a true story.
Burkhard Dallwitz did the scoring for this film. Probably one of the most important things in a film that can draw my attention is the score. Towards the end of the film the group had made their way to “Tibet“, at this point of relief a very emotional melody comes in, and the camera starts floating over Tibet’s great landscape. But the scoring also knows some threatening and soothing melodies like “Interrogation” and “Lake Baikal“. Get your tickets to see this beautiful motion picture and if you like the score by Burkhard Dallwitz like I did, get it here!
