Shop report: Antwerp

Antwerp, wow. I wish this city was a little bit more known for it’s shops, restaurants and nightlife. The northern Belgium city reminisces of Paris, with the same style of buildings. Here’s a little overview of the shops that are nice to browse around, when you’re shopping in Antwerp. Or Anvers, as the French speaking Belgian call it.

Antwerp Meir

Antwerp Meir

Meir Festive Hall

The Festive Hall (or Stadsfeestzaal), pictured above, is a small shopping center, with the allure of New York, London and Paris combined. Two champagne bars can be found here, where you can enjoy your glass of champagne. A lot of big stores are located in this center, I recommend this so you can begin, or end, your day relaxing. If you walk into the city center, you pass by this mall. On the meir (market), it can be found on your left.

Address: Meir 78, Antwerp

Verso

Great shop. Verso is owned by the agency that imports brands like Dolce&Gabbana, 7 For All Mankind, Pinko, Fendi, McQ, Missoni, and so on. At Verso you can find brands like Dolce&Gabbana, Gucci, Prada, Prada Sport, Les Hommes and Dior. Furthermore you can have lunch or dinner at Verso Café, or enjoy cocktails in the Martini bar. Second Martini bar in Europe.

Princess Blue

With brands like Acne Jeans, Helmut Lang, J.Lindeberg, Marc Jacobs, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Moncler, Margiela and See by Chloé, you can’t go wrong at Princess Blue. Have a look at Princess Blue next time you’re in Antwerp.

Princess

Ladies only is the credo of Princess in Antwerp, located on the Meir. Here you can find brands like Acne, Burberry, Armani Collezioni and Armani Jeans, Michael Kors, Ralph Lauren, Tod’s and Trussardi. A big, big store.

COS

COS is short for Collection Of Style. Owned by the Swedish fashion mogul H&M, COS is the little brother of H&M in the higher segment. Nothing reminisces of H&M. Good quality, better designs and overall more stylish. Located in the big Meir Festive Hall.

Address: Hopland 31 – Tel. +323 231 98 00

Dany May

Dany May is probably the first store you encounter when you start your Antwerp shopping spree. Located on the Meir, you can find brands like D&G, For All Mankind, Paul Smith, Iceberg Jeans and Tom Ford eyewear.

Coco&Co

In this small shop you can find every basic you need. From sweaters to dresses. Small accessories can be found here too. Ladies only.

Adres: Oudaan 4 - Tel. +323 226 96 16

Ordning&Reda

Ordning&Reda is a small store for office supplies. What’s cool about this? The line with crocolook, for your desk, pens and paperwork is great, the collabbo with Stabilo is also great, a heavy duty pen and pencil, available for about € 40.

Address: Groendalstraat 17 – Tel. +323 231 19 66

Vilebrequin

The best swimwear. Enough said, go check it out.

Address: Schuttershofstraat 33 – Tel. +323 234 09 60

Hospital

Hospital is located out of the city center, but is worth the visit. Brands like Viktor&Rolf, D&G, AF Vandevorst, Marc Jacobs, Alexander McQueen, Sonia Rykiel and Tim Van Steenbergen can be found here. Apart from the fashion, you can find a winebar where you can buy the best of wines, selected by Jurgen Lijcops (Vinipure). Each month you can buy here another oldtimer (see the picture to understand what I mean). Cool store!
