Launch Converse Jack Purcell by Sak

Last friday, BrutBlog was invited to be at the exclusive launch of the limited edition handmade Jack Purcells, designed by the Japanese shoemaker Sak. He only made 50 pairs, so these are extreme limited. The launch took place in the great denim store of Denham the Jeanmaker who had 8 pairs in store to sell. They were sold for € 500,- a pair and we saw 3 pairs getting sold in just an hour! Which is a good price considering is takes 1,5 day to manufacture just one pair.
Amazing shoes, great craftsmanship. See the pics for yourself.
There was sushi, Japanese beer and a lot of Converse/Denham lovers to complete this nice event.

Diesel’s campaign is so brilliantly fitting to their brand. These two in particular, they were even banned in the UK. Thank god not everybody is as prudish as the people from England.

A bit tired of all those labels on your clothes? After reading “The Bonfire of Brands” by Neil Boorman I decided to give his vision a chance. He tried to live without any brands in his life. Can you imagine that! So I removed the leather label from my jeans, not because I don’t like the brand, I’m a big fan of Blue Blood but just to get in Neil’s mind. Surprisingly I really like the result, they still look and wear great. What will be the next label that is going to be removed…

Recently I’ve fallen in love with this woman called Raquel Welch. The version from the 60s that is. She used to date Burt Bacharach, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Elvis Presley. And I sure do understand these guys. She even looks good now she reached the age of 70!
I love this vintage photography, so inspirational.

Blue Blood Sample Sale

Last week we received a lot of invitations for sample sales.
We never miss out on Blue Blood’s Sample Sale, and as they claimed that this one was going to be their biggest sale ever we decided to check it out again.

Resulting in a new duffelbag, a House of Avelon V-Neck and the jacket that is rocking the catwalk on the picture below.
